Pappa var en Inganäs. Han ville alltid lite mer och lite till.

Dad was an Inganäs. He always wanted a little more and a little more.

With a background and roots in Anderstorp and Hillerstorp, you become special, you become an entrepreneur. In the late 1930s, Carl-Axel Inganäs, founder of Cai, started working at a sock factory in Älvsered. The desire to realize himself was in his soul and over time he wanted to become his own. From his time in the sock factory, Carl-Axel had gained good insight into materials, machines and had a good understanding of the demand for socks. In 1946, he took over the old school in Hånger just outside Värnamo and turned the school hall into a knitting hall and became his own entrepreneur.

Carl-Axel was intense and spared no expense in working from early morning until late at night. It was his hard work and strong will that was the beginning of Cai's success story. It was about manufacturing socks with the best quality at the lowest possible price. When Björn Inganäs took over his father's business in 1975, he continued to develop the tradition in the same line until new political decisions were made that would make it impossible to continue with the textile industry in Sweden. Björn expanded the range of socks with imported complementary products such as underwear, something that was natural for the customer to buy in the same place. A range that has now been expanded to include shirts, hats and reflective vests as complementary products to Cai's socks.

- I've been turning socks since I was four. years old. I could hear Dad's voice from the factory when I was away playing, I was raised to do this, says Björn.

Björn wanted to run a business that worked for a long time to come. Quality is the watchword that has followed the business through years. Likewise, being humble towards the customer, the supplier and having a strong community with the employees, is something that both Björn and his father strove for. Pentecost In 1981, lightning struck the factory and everything disappeared. Cai had to start all over again, but only two weeks after the fire was production restarted thanks to used machines and a relocated warehouse. With a Cai has a strong entrepreneurial spirit and hard work Despite the fateful year of 1981, we continue to move forward proudly.

– It is difficult to put your finger on what pushes one forward to continue when one is born As an entrepreneur, in a way it's just a given.
